The focus of her work has been on areas such as the safety of schools, opioids, and infrastructure, as well as trade. Schlapp isn't involved with journalists much in her current role. But, back in March, her name was floated to be the person who could take over Hope Hicks at the Communications Director post. It hasn't been an easy fight. Friends of Schlapp and Tony Sayegh, one of the other candidates for the post started fighting in the media. Following Schlapp was informed that the Washington Examiner published a negative story about Sayegh, Schlapp stated that she called him to have a relationship with her.
